The number of homes sold in October jumped 12 percent compared to the same month last year.
Last month, 3,183 homes sold, compared with 2,842 sold during October last year, according to an analysis of Metrolist Inc.
Meanwhile, the median price for a single-family home showed a 1.8 percent year-over-year decline, from $230,250last year to $226,021 last month.
Median condo prices increased 1.2 percent to $125,000, up from $123,500 last October.
